Kent Darnielle Music


Kent Darnielle attended Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, studying piano with Dr. James Cook and music composition with Professor Bruce McIntosh, and receiving a BA in Music Composition. He went on to the University of Southern California, where he studied piano with Adrian Ruiz and composition with Dr. James Hopkins, Professor Robert Linn, and Dr. Frederick Lesemann, and received a Masters in Music Composition. Kent has written and performed works for various radio dramas, industrial videos, television news stations, an exercise video, a film documentary, a commercial (1985 to present). He also has written original music and performed on Bruce Kaphan?s Hybrid CD (2009). Various concert works include ?Four Hands to Feed? for violin and piano; ?Music for Four Mouths? for clarinet, violin, cello, and piano; ?Pacific Kinesis? for chamber orchestra; ?Bijou Continuo? for orchestra; ?La Sera Domenicale? for choir and strings, as well as works for concert band and for choir. He has taught piano privately in the San Francisco Bay Area from 1980 to the present.
