Call for Submissions — Submission deadline passed

Composers who are active in SCI are invited to submit as many as two (2) works for any solo or chamber combinations, saxophone quartet, Fluxus-style chamber ensemble, piano, solo vocal, choir (chamber SATB, and larger group), jazz band, percussion ensemble, wind ensemble, and orchestra (all performance materials must be supplied by the selected composers–rental costs will not be borne by the host university). Electronic and electroacoustic works are also welcome. Proposals for papers about aspects of music since 1960 are also encouraged.

Submission deadline is May 30, 2005 (receipt)

The Region V 2005 conference will be held Nov. 11-13. Selection for performance will be made by ensemble directors in consultation with performance faculty and members of the composition faculty.

Submit up to two (2) scores along with separate CDs for each work submitted (if available), a letter with complete contact information (incl phone numbers, E mail addresses and your SCI region number) and a SASE for return of materials. If you wish to supply your own performers, also indicate that in your submission letter. Composers and presenters whose works are accepted for the conference will be notified by Aug. 31st, 2005.
