2012 SCI Student National Conference

Conference Registration

Conference registration will be available mid-June. The registration fee will be $75 and includes a buffet lunch and admission to all events.

Call for Scores, Papers and Panels

The 2012 Society of Composers Student National Conference solicits submissions for compositions, papers, and suggestions for panels.

Six concerts are planned, from wind ensemble, choral, chamber, and electroacoustic works.

The conference will feature performances of the winning compositions from the 2011 ASCAP/SCI Student Commissioning Competition.

Submission Guidelines for Compositions

Deadline: July 1, 2012

Submitters must be SCI members in good standing. Non-members may submit, but must join SCI if their work is selected. Authors of compositions and papers chosen to be programmed are required to attend the conference and must pay the standard registration fee.

Each composer may submit up to two compositions each of which should be < 15′ duration.

Composers are encouraged to provide their own performers.

Works may be submitted for the following instrumentations:

  • Mixed Chamber/Choral Ensemble (< 10 players, all orchestral instruments)
  • Electroacoustic music and multimedia works, with or without live performer(s). 5.1 sound projection, maximum.
