Call for Participation
The 2014 Society of Composers, Inc. National Conference solicits submissions for compositions, installations, papers, and suggestions for panels.
The conference will take place at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, March 20-22 in conjunction with the BSU 44th annual Festival of New Music.
One concert will feature Ball State’s Chamber Choir and Concert Choir, so compositions for those ensembles are especially encouraged.
The Chamber Choir is 32 singers, mostly upper level music majors and graduate students.
The Concert Choir is 64 singers, mostly college freshmen and sophomores, many non-majors. Accompanied works (piano or other instruments) are encouraged. Please consider sending pieces appropriate in level of difficulty and preparation time for this level of choir performers.
Submissions of electroacoustic works, performances that involve technology, and installations are also encouraged.
All composers and presenters accepted for the conference are required to attend the conference. The registration fee will be determined and posted at a later date.
